Hue-MAN started out as a discussion between Del Gates, VJ Smith, and Clarence Jones regarding family community activities in south Minneapolis. A conversation about the 4th Ave Parades led us to convene several Southside organizations that we felt had a history of commitment and positive actions in making the community healthier. Later we realized that we also needed to open up the partnership to other community organizations as long as they were in agreement with our values of healthy men-healthy families and healthy communities.

 

The Hue-MAN Partnership continues to collaborate to reduce health disparities among men in the community. Moreover, the collaborative efforts have further empowered and equipped men to make healthy choices for themselves, their families, and their communities. Hue-MAN has two specific focuses: Medical Health and Community Outreach.

We are health care, community, and professional organizations seeking to address the health crisis among our young and middle-aged men, primarily men of color.
