Mr. Preston Garrison former Secretary-General and Chief Executive Officer of the World Federation for Mental Health

Mr. Garrison will explore mental health in the context of local, national, and international communities. He will highlight the community's response to mental health issues, including media, public policy makers and others.

"Healing the Village"  

Samuel Simmons, Jr., LADC, Behavioral Consultant and Conference Organizer

Will explore the trauma link to challenges in the African American community. Also, will discuss what it will take inside and outside the community to start the healing process.

June 22st - Day Two

  • Amanda Borde, LICSW, Behavioral Health Director at African American Family Services (AAFS). She has a expertise in culturally specific mental health services for African American, Biracial, and Multiracial clients.                                                                  

  • Marques Armstrong, Executive Director of Imani Youth and Family Services. He has 16 years of experience working with youth and families in the capacities of mental health case manager, mental health practitioner, youth and family advocate.

  • Harry G. Ford is a practicing Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists and Associate Clinical Director at Thad Wilderson & Associates in Saint Paul.  He is also the president and founder of TEZET.      

  • KayeAnn Mason is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a private practice in Saint Paul. Her mental health practice provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children, adults, couples and families with an emphasis on culturally compassionate care for urban populations.
